Monte Carlo, the place-to-be for the best Rally drivers in the world, this January.

As is traditional in January, the Principality of Monaco hosts the Monte Carlo Rally which kicks off the first round of the 2023 World Rally Championship season. Between 16.01 and 22.01, the Principality will be the place-to-be for the best Rally drivers in the world and fans of this sport. Its organizer, the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM), is also in charge of the Historic Rally, the Monaco e-Prix, and the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

This race, which takes place in the Alpes-Maritimes and Haute-Provence departments, has been characterized since its beginning by its difficult competition conditions between snow and asphalt.

Therefore, many badges decide to test the innovations developed in their cars during their course. For this edition, the organizers have arranged a 50% change in the route as well as added additional difficulties in the competition conditions that make this test even more attractive.

The first three days – between January 16 and 18 – are dedicated to tests and recognitions. The initial session will take place on January 19 with the official start from the traditional and grand Plaza del Casino de Monte Carlo.

The mythical route of the Col de Turini will have a particular role, as it will be held as a night start test and also as a special test in the last stage. The second section will be the « queen of the rally » with the inclusion of five ports with high level difficulties and also night development.

Finally the classic stage on Sunday morning which will be open to all drivers who will then cross the finish line in Monaco. The awards ceremony will take place in the spectacular Plaza del Casino.

In short, more than 300 km of route divided into 18 stages, with new proposals and challenges to provide more excitement to those who are passionate about this sport.
